Nylon AI connector
Cited federal tax research in your AI assistant
Nylon’s AI connector gives Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot access to Nylon’s library of US federal tax law: the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, IRS guidance and U.S. Tax Court opinions. Your assistant searches and reads the sources, then cites each one with a link you can check. It’s included with Nylon Adviser and Elite seats.

A business must keep its books and records for as long as their contents may become material in the administration of any internal revenue law [1]. At a minimum, that generally means until the assessment period for the return closes, usually 3 years after the return was filed [2].

Nylon AI connector: frequently asked questions
Setup guides for each assistant are in the developer docs, or email support@usenylon.com.
What is Nylon’s AI connector?
A read-only MCP server that lets your AI assistant search and read Nylon’s library, and cite each source with a link. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to outside tools.
Which AI assistants work with Nylon?
Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot through a Copilot Studio agent, Claude Code and Gemini CLI. Another MCP client can connect once we add it: email support@usenylon.com.
Which Nylon plan do I need?
An Adviser or Elite seat, billed monthly per user with no minimum term. Starter seats don’t include the AI connector.
What can my assistant search in Nylon?
The Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, IRS guidance such as Revenue Rulings, Revenue Procedures and Notices, and U.S. Tax Court opinions. State tax law isn’t covered.
Can my assistant change anything in Nylon?
No. The connector is read-only. Your assistant can search and read documents, but it can’t upload, edit or delete anything, or see your chat history, folders or saved work. Each person signs in with their own Nylon account.
How is this different from asking my assistant directly?
On its own, an AI assistant answers from its training data and, if it’s switched on, the web. With Nylon, it searches a curated library of primary sources, reads the documents and links each citation to the source so you can check it.
Does the connector cost extra?
No. It’s included with Nylon Adviser and Elite seats and doesn’t use Pro credits. Your AI assistant’s own plan and any usage charges still apply.
How do I disconnect Nylon?
Remove Nylon from your assistant’s connectors or tools. A Nylon admin can also turn off Allow AI tool connections for the whole organization in Organization Settings → Connections.
